LINDA JUKES, CHOIR DIRECTOR
Linda has been our choir director since the fall of 1987. Stepping into the position while Charles Keller was away for the year, led to her tenure in this position. Linda has used her experiences of singing in numerous choirs to help her in the tasks of leading the choir.
Starting to sing while in 6th grade, she continued her vocal career through high school, including a trip to the Delaware County District Chorus in her junior year. While attending California University of Pennsylvania, Linda sang with the College Choir and the Women’s Glee Club, as well as the First Presbyterian Church Choir. As Linda was starting her teaching career, she then joined the California Chorale, leading to voice lessons and eventually a three-year experience with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Within the community, Linda has continued to sing with the Uniontown Chorale, and the Beesontown Singers.
Linda has enjoyed learning about choral directing under the tutelage of Robert Page, Miriam Wilson, Shirley Sutton, John Edwards, Charles Keller, William Dreucci, and Walter Weaver. Linda brings a variety of musical tastes to our choir, from traditional octavos written by classical composers to contemporary pieces written by modern Christian artists. Linda believes wholeheartedly in making a joyful noise to the Lord and encourages all singers to come and join the choir.
